On 27-28 April 2026, MAYA Project partners participated in the 2nd EU Cancer Mission Fair in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Organised by the Establishing Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies (ECHoS) project, in collaboration with the European Commission’s EU Cancer Mission, and under the patronage of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, the fair offered a unique opportunity to learn from best practices and foster collaboration across sectors.

Ahead of the fair, the MAYA project was presented in a poster in the EU Cancer Mission Conference "Understanding cancer in the digital age: data, innovation and equity" by MAYA partner Carina Dantas, CEO of SHINE 2Europe.

Besides project pitches from all over Europe, MAYA was presented during the workshop "Beyond Pilots: Synergising EU Cancer Projects for Ethical and Inclusive Implementation of Digital Tools", by Carina Dantas and Lucas Cardoso da Silva, researcher and project manager at SHINE 2Europe.

MAYA partners were happy to meet with a wide range of stakeholders, from policy makers to experts and patient representatives, all united under a common goal : improving access to and the quality of cancer prevention and care across Europe, with a strong focus on health equity and quality of life. The discussions were further enriched by the perspectives of European cancer patients and survivors, whose voices played a key role throughout.
